Thank you for helping the Fairy Godmother Academy ('the Academy') test and make
this website better. Please understand that not everything will work every time
or all the time, yet. And, not all the things we plan to make have been made,
yet. The website launches to the Ordinary People on August 25, 2009.

Also, we want you and your parents to share the Fairy Godmother Academy experience

unerstand together the online policies, rules and expectations of the Fairy Godmother

WHAT YOU CAN DO AT THE ACADEMY
Discover your inner Wisdoms
The Fairy Godmother Academy (or, 'the Academy') wants you to have fun, while being
safe, respectful, friendly, and Wise. You can explore your hidden Fairy Lineages,
learn about Aventurine and discover your own inner Wisdoms. We want you to grow
into fairy godmothers who, like Birdie, help protect the green world, and their
local communities.
Get Permission from your Parents
As with all websites, only do things allowed by your Parents! Ask them before you
ever give out information or take part in any offline, real-world activity with
anyone. Please get your parents, and together read and understand the Fairy Godmother
Academy Privacy policy at http://FairyGodmotherAcademy.com/privacy-policy
Be Part of a Real Community
At the Fairy Godmother Academy you can, if you want, become part of a real community,
with online friends, and both online and offline adventures (we call them “Wisdom
Acts”) to have by yourself, with friends and with family. To be able to have
online friends, send or receive messages, share comments on other Dreamer's creations,
or make your voice public in the Million Girl Choir, you have to “Enroll”
in the Academy, which requires your parent's permission, credit card and costs $2.99.
Make a real-world difference
When you join up certain Wisdom Acts, we count the number of people and the amount
of time they spend, and we share this with sponsorship partners who do various real-world
deeds, such as plant trees or adopt miles of paths, based on these numbers. In this
way, some of your online time spent in the Academy makes a real-world difference.
Make and Share Gifts
At the Academy we know that few things build friendships like good gifts. So you
can make or buy items to give. So, we'll show you ways to make things online and
offline, and show you how to share them or give them away. “Sharing' at the
Academy means the item is copied and the copy given to someone else, while “gifted”
or “given away” means the original owner no longer owns any copy after
it is given away. And, just so you know, once as item is given, it cannot be taken
back.
Play and explore on your terms
You can use this website to explore Aventurine and play with most of the games,
activities, contests and votes of the Academy without Enrolling, including uploading
your private voice to the Million Girl Choir and using only featured voices to create
your own choirs, but you will not be able to see or send message or comments, have
online friends, make your voice public or use non-featured public voices in the
Million Girl Choir.
Find friends, send messages, stay in control
Enrolled students (and only Enrolled students) may send each other messages, comments,
invites to be friends, or announcements – this is how students of the Academy
may meet each other. You or your parents can flag/block a message or a sender, whether
they are a 'friend' or not, for any reason you see fit. A parent's setting cannot
be over-ridden by a child's setting. Parents, we urge you to take the time to review
and stay aware of all your child's online activities, not just those here at the
Academy.
Dealing with bullying or other bad behavior
While we do our best to connect any users of the Friends section to real life physical
addresses, we cannot guarantee any person is who they say they are. If you ever
feel threatened, bullied or uncomfortable with what another user says or does, please
“Flag” the item, which will block it from you, and alert the Administrators
of the Academy for follow-up and investigation. You can “Flag” an item
by clicking the flag icon (icon here) next to a comment, voice, message or other
user-personalized or user-supplied item.
WHAT YOU CANNOT DO AT THE ACADEMY
Run a business through the Academy
You cannot sell or re-sell any of the items from the Academy, including music, art,
designs, ideas, voices, music or voice or choir streams, or any other element of
the Academy, in any media. You cannot download or copy any item from the Academy
and exchange it for anything of value or use it in anyway other than
Make a Public item Private again
You cannot 'take back' or delete or control any user-generated content, creation
(such as garments, outfits, talismans), Wisdoms submissions, contest entry, review,
rating, public Dream, Journal writing, photo or voice upload or anything else once
they are made public. You can, of course, decide which items to make public, and
which to keep private. We may optionally choose to moderate, delete, edit and in
other ways control all public items.
Play nice, we just might know where you live
You cannot be mean, be a bully, or be un-wise here. To become Enrolled, which is
required to contact other users, send messages, comments, and other publicly viewable
writing, you must pay by credit card. This means the Academy has a real physical
address associated with every Enrolled user, so only do things in the Academy that
you would be proud to do in real-life – because we know how to tell your parents,
and law enforcement should it come to that.
Violate other people's copyrights
As you know, people work hard to create original and worthwhile things. You cannot
create or upload any items or parts of items which mainly depend on elements owned
or created by someone else, without their permission.
Who owns the art and creations and uploads, and why
At the Academy, we will help you find your inner creativity, and we want to help
you to make things, both online and offline. For various legal reasons, everything
you make online at the Academy belongs to the Academy, and by using this site you
agree to allow the Academy to use it however we see fit, whenever we see fit. This
mainly is to allow us to do things like share it with fellow students, showcase
or feature cool stuff, let others vote on their favorites, without asking you every
time, but also occasionally to use it to show other Dreamers what great stuff is
being created here.
If you want to, for example, use your home-printer to print out a Wisdom Card you
personalized to give as a gift, that is okay, but you cannot sell or re-sell or
mass-produce or widely distribute any items from the Academy. If you want to talk

Shopping and Buying and Giftcard allowances
To buy things from the Fairy Godmother Academy, you must be 18, or have a Giftcard
allowance provided by your parent or guardian. Purchases require a valid credit
card number, expiration date, physical address, phone number and email address.
Pre-paid Giftcards, good only at the Academy Shop, allow users to buy items without
going back to get your parents each time.
Giftcards have two steps:
1. Purchasing
Giftcards can be purchased during Enrollment, or at any time from the Shop, or
at any time from the sign in user's Private Profile (sign in, and go to
http://FairyGodmotherAcademy.com/friends/me).
Your parent will have to provide their credit card number, expiration date, physical
address, phone number and email address AND your online FGA SCREEN-NAME (not your
real name) and BIRTHDATE to make sure you get the giftcard account.
2. Assigning
During checkout, if you are signed-in with an email adress that serves as the Parenst email address for any user account(s), you will be asked if your purchase is to be assigned to an existing user. Simply choose the user from the dropdown menu.
WARNING: Once delivered, a Giftcard cannot be refunded or recalled or re-assigned.
REFUND POLICY
The $2.99 enrollment fee cannot be refunded, except in cases of credit card fraud.
Refunding the enrollment fee will also drop the user account. This means all creations,
friends, messages, and the like will be lost and not be able to be recovered.
CLARIFICATION: Refund of enrollment fee will result in loss of enrollment privileges, including access to inbox messages, and Million Girl CHoir voices of the now-un-enrolled user. Any other enrolled user will still have access to this content, however -- see above: "Make a Public item Private again."
To request a refund of Enrollment Fee, please email
support@fairygodmotheracademy.com and you must include in the subject line
"Refund for (Nickname)".
This email must come from the parent's email address associated with the account
to be processed. This email is processed automatically so the subject line and email
address must match exactly.
DELETING AN ACCOUNT
A user account can be requested for deletion by simply emailing support@FairyGodmotherAcademy.com from the email address on record for that user account. This means all creations,
friends, messages, and the like will be lost and not be able to be recovered by the parent or the child.
To request deletion of an account, please email
support@fairygodmotheracademy.com and you must include in the subject line
"Delete account (Nickname)".
This email must come from the parent's email address associated with the account
to be processed. This email is processed automatically so the subject line and email
address must match exactly.
