My wish to become a singer and songwriter was always my dream and I began working
on it very early. One of my favorite memories is when I was 3 years old, my dad
built a little stage for me and put it up on the drive way so I could perform all
of my "shows" for my neighborhood audience. They grew to expect to see me every Friday,
as I hand delivered my homemade tickets to their door for my weekend matinees.
Growing up I sang in the church choir, studied piano, viola, and voice and attended
music magnet schools. I continued with my studies in college where I majored in
classical voice. I spent some time concertizing in Italy, after participating in
the Cantate program at the home of opera composer Verdi.
After college, I focused on what was my most honest expression of myself -- my songs
which were mostly inspired by the pop songs that I grew up listening to. I moved
to NYC and became a part of the local music scene and helped the VH1 Save the Music
program restore music education programs across the US.
I have enjoyed a career of as independent artist and am most happy living the artist
life in Austin, Texas -- the live music capital of the world. There I continue to follow
my dreams to sing, write, and perform while being close to my Texas family. Look
for my new solo release Pretty Muse in fall 2009.
